Religion Poll Results

Accordingg to story on CNN Political Ticker  surveys indicates that in the first half of this year, 78 percent of Muslims approved of the job the president's doing in the White House, while just 24 percent of Mormons give Obama a thumbs up. According to the poll, the president's approval rating among Protestants and other Christians was 43 percent, it stood at 50 percent for Catholics, 61 percent among Jews, 63 percent for Atheists, Agnostics and those with no religion, and 64 percent for those from other non-Christian religions. The president's approval among all Americans stood at 48 percent.

How does this reflect the job he has done in office thus far ?

More Women Running

According to Rutgers University's Center for American Women and Politics, which compiles statistics on women, candidates for the Republican Party are increasing in record numbers.  129 GOP women in House races and 17 in Senate races, compared to 1994, when 91 ran for the House and 13 for the Senate. This is a wonderful turnout.

Romney prepares his plan

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney prepares to challenge the incumbent in the 2012 presidential race.  In an article on “The Fix” By Chris Cillizza, Romney lays out some plans to save the economy.

He states he will extend the tax cuts approved during the Bush Administration, "aggressively" pursuing trade deals to drive American exports, eliminating the tax on capital gains and investments for families with incomes $250,000 and below. He explains "It's time for a growth and jobs agenda to replace the special interest political agendas that we have endured over the past decades. So much is at stake a strong economy provides for the strong defense which preserves our liberty and promotes peace."

Will this plan enthuse voters?

Was it wrong to give a speech?

Conservative icon Ann Coulter lost her privilege of speaking at WorldNetDaily (the site famous for questioning President Obama’s citizenship)  national convention due to her appearance on GOProud's "Homocon." GOProud is a group that represents gay conservatives. Coutler does explain that just because you speak at an event hosted by  an organization does not mean you fully support the ideas of the group. Coulter says she has been hired to give many speeches for colleges, even some liberal groups and this speech is the same as any other speech gig she may have taken.

People have to remember once becoming a significant member in the public eye they have to be mindful of the groups they associate themselves with because the group’s mission may not be a reflection of their personal views. I do believe public figures should be able to give speeches within groups and at events of their choice.

Celebrity President

Wyclef Jean is running for president of Haiti! Not many people support his run but sometimes we have to listen to all aspects of a persons vision. Many times when women run for politics their past experience will be in education or they will just have a real heart for change and we accept that. Despite Wyclef moving from Haiti at 9 we can accept that he really just wants to make a difference. Experience is acquired over time and if we never give people a first chance they will never gain experience to be qualified for other things. Sometimes a good heart, dedication and the willingness to learn can go along way. In the video below he gives an overview on some of his plans.
